"Maze of Bones" is the first of a ten-book series called 39 Clues, following siblings Dan and Amy Cahill as they race against other branches of the Cahill family to solve 39 clues to find ingredients of a serum that will grant them incredible power. Although "Maze of Bones" is written by Rick Riordan, the each of the rest of the books are written by different authors. This series combines elements of mystery, cutthroat competition, and familial bonds in an exciting read that takes readers all over the world, from the catacombs of Paris to the Nile River to the Great Wall of China. This series is the first one in the 39 Clues franchise, followed by sequel series’ Cahills v. Vespers, Unstoppable, and Doublecross. This series is worth having to read multiple books, and the trials and tribulations Dan and Amy face are captivating. The mystery feel of these books makes readers feel like detectives alongside the main characters, which is part of the charm. This is also a great series because there are so many books: "39 Clues" will keep your child hooked for a long while.
